FERJA is a Norwegian word meaning “ferry.” A ferry takes people from one shore to another. In that spirit, FERJA offers Transformational Coaching and Development for leaders, HR-business partners, and managers, helping them learn to surf the waves of these rapidly changing times and cross from where they have been to the new shores that are waiting.
FERJA’s proven approach is rooted in Transformational Presence, a simple yet powerful way to see the bigger picture of what is happening, navigate uncertainties, and recognize both known and unknown possibilities of the moment.
Physicist Max Planck said, “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” This is exactly what we help you do: open new perspectives and possibilities, and then move forward into effective and sustainable action.
The Transformational Presence approach was originally created by Alan Seale, internationally recognized coach, author, and speaker, and founder of the Center for Transformational Presence.
Presence is how you show up in the world—what people feel and experience when they are with you, and who they become when they are around you. Said another way, the most effective leadership presence creates a culture that lifts people up, inspires and challenges them to be their absolute best, and empowers them to develop their greatest skills and talents.
Transformation happens when there is a shift in fundamental understanding, perspective, or awareness, whether in an individual, a team, or an organization. Transformation is an “inside-out” process—a catalyst for shifts in approaches and practices that no longer work.
Transformational Presence is all about creating the best possible environment or culture that brings forth the greatest potential of an individual, team, or organization. A leader’s experience
Caroline Veerman has made an important contribution to the strength of our team in the past year. She coached me (in my role as a manager) and guided and enriched our team. I mainly learned to focus more on what is really important. And thanks to Caroline, our team has taken a big step towards self-organization.
She works with the method of “transformational presence” (Alan Seale) and uses exercises that can fundamentally change people and the dynamics in a team. Those exercises appeal to personal and collective leadership and are, I think, precisely because of that so effective. I particularly recommend working with the ’the 4 levels of engagement’ tool. This takes you beyond the “drama” and the “quick fix” that often attracts so much of our attention.
I don’t know a more powerful approach for teams than this one. But of course you need more than good instruments alone. You need someone like Caroline, with her wisdom and (management) experience, purpose, and love for people to make it work!
